We’re in South Australia!! Chris and I haven’t been to South Australia since we were in nappies and we are so happy to be visiting. It was such a great drive from Victoria, scenic and safe, towing a van. The roads were great!
We are making our way across to Adelaide and had heard great things about Naracoorte, so thought it to be a great place to stop for a couple of nights. We pulled into the Big 4 Holiday and train park, Naracoorte and everything we had heard was proven true. Naracoorte is cute, peaceful and beautiful.

The sites are massive with enough room to park 4 caravans across them. The beauty of this park is that they allow you to choose your own site. We drove in an decided on a site right in the middle of the amenities, camp kitchen and playground which proved to be a great decision. This allowed plenty of room for the kids to run around but still be close to us. This is a dog friendly park so throwing a ball to the owners dog, Chip was a daily activity.
This park is known for its unique tiny train set that families can ride within the park grounds. The train track is open on weekends and public holidays and we were lucky enough to experience this which gave the kids a smile a mile long.
Tickets are just $3.50 per person or 3 for $10 plus the kids…..and big kid (Chris) just loved it!
Apart from the gorgeous train set this park hosts a jumping pillow, outdoor play area, games room and a putt putt golf course that saw mummy win again!! Ha, you can say these things when you are the one writing about it, but shhhhh don’t tell Chris.
This park has all the facilities you need for an enjoyable stay. A large camp kitchen, laundry and heated bathrooms. Heated bathrooms are rare and are perfect when the kids jump out of the shower at night!
Last but not least the pool area!! This is a council run free pool area that is fortunate enough to be attached to the rear of the Caravan Park. It is incredibly HUGEEE and boasts swimming lanes, general swimming areas and a beached swim area with sand for the kids. Although it was a bit too cold for us to try this one out we look forward to visiting again, with this being a priority!
This park provides a very comfortable, enjoyable stay. With the unique activities for the kids, its one that they will remember for years to come.
